Now that the holiday season is in full swing, you’ll probably want to dive right into the Christmas spirit. Luckily, there’s plenty of fun, safe, outdoor activities in the greater Nashville area that will supply more than enough holiday cheer for you and your family. Here are a few of our favorite events:
Cheekwood Estate and Gardens Holiday Lights
The most picturesque spot in Nashville offers a truly unique and dazzling holiday experience very year. Cheekwood Estate and Gardens’ Holiday Lights event features more than a million lights throughout all 55 acres of beautiful botanical gardens. This year will feature new experiences like a retelling of the story of The Nutcracker in the Historic Mansion & Museum, a special TRAINS! exhibit, and a visit from two of Santa’s very own reindeer! The event will be open seven nights a week starting November 20, and tickets are priced at $19 for an adult and $12 for kids 3-17.
North Pole Express Train Ride
The Tennessee Central Railway Museum is famous for recreating the nostalgia of vintage train travel, and this year you can take your kids on a ride on the Polar Express. Every Saturday from November 21 through December 19, come ride the train with Santa and his elves, sing along with the carolers, and enjoy some hot cocoa.
Gaylord Opryland’s A Country Christmas
The annual Christmas extravaganza in one of Nashville’s premier resorts is back and better than ever! Stroll through the impressive display of lights in this picture-perfect miniature Christmas village, enjoy an immersive exhibit featuring key moments from some of the most iconic holiday movies, race your friends and family down the 15-foot ice tubing hill, and show off your creative side at the Gingerbread Decorating Corner.
Vintage Market Days of Nashville Holiday Market
Stressing over what to get your friends and family for Christmas? Stress no more—you’ll find everything you need at this holiday market at the ALL NEW Fairgrounds in Nashville. The event will take place December 4-6, with admission costing between $5 and $15.
